ABILITIES
Ability rating determins your Vampyr's strengths and weaknesses compared to others of its kind. The abilities available are:
Physical Superiority
When they were rescued from the shores of Death, the vampyr's bodies were reinvented. As their bodies continue to renew themselves by taking in the blood of other beings, they begin to retain the strength, agility, stamina, and durability of their hosts.
Camouflage
When the great change overcame the bodies of the Aurillians, the creatures awoke to the dark of a winter's night. Ever since, the vampyr have been creatures of the night, their bodies rebelling against the blinding like and seering heat of the sun. Though they may stray into the sunlight of the in-between hours, dusk and dawn, they are best hidden in the darkness. Camouflage dictates how well they are able to conceal themselves from their attackers by utilizing the shadows and darkness around them.
Healing
A vampyr's blood is potent. When they were revived, it was through the changing of their blood, which renews them, keeps them young, so long as they renew that source by drinking the blood of others. The healing properties of that blood is decided by this ability. This counts not only for healing themselves, but for healing others when it is applied.
Precognition
Through life experience and the betterment of their senses, a vampyr can begin to sense a series of events moments before they occur, especially in battle. A vampyr may also see the distant future, but only when in a state of unconsciousness, such as sleep or meditation, and because the picture of the future is ever changing these visions may never come to pass.
Telepathy
Due to a combination of the effects of the vampyr's healing properties on the brain and the magic of the original transformation, all vampyr have a latent ability of telepathy. Telepathy is easiest between vampyr, becomes more difficult with humanity, but can eventually reach all species.
Transformation
Through intense concentration, use of their physical strength, and their healing abilities, vampyr can learn to transform their bodies temporarily into a nocturnal animal of their choice. Due to the intense strain this places on a vampyr's mind and body and the fickleness of the magic needed, this transformation is not often long-lasting. The duration of the change, as well as the power of the animal chosen and the ability of the vampyr to control the animal's strength are all decided by how experienced they are in this ability. (One AP, one animal, not very strong, but may still be useful. Five AP, most any animal, quite strong, can potentially be dangerous.) Most vampyr have preferred forms (which you can list in your biography).
Flying
A vampyr that has learned to control their body with the greatest of ease may also find a new talent at their fingers, one that is a result of the perfectly tuned body's ability to wield their inherent magic to lift themselves physically off the ground and ride the currents of the wind.
Language Barrier
Through a combination of telepathy, heightened intelligence, and experience, a vampyr may find themselves able to make sense many languages, dialects, even reaching back to ancient glyphs and tongues.
Mind Control
A vampyr who has begun to master the art of telepathy may also find themselves able to influence the mind and feelings of others. This power can be very dangerous, and requires tact and skill on the part of the vampyr as well as a keen understanding of the person you are attempting to manipulate. This can also be used as an attack, afflicting pain, confusion, or other detrimental qualities directly into a creature's brain.
Touch Memory
Vampyr of very great mental acuity may find themselves able to read the memory of physical objects through touch. It takes a vampyr of very great experience and intelligence to harness these powers to be able to converse with the environment and take full advantage of this ability.
